The new Skills in Demand Visa Subclass 482 in Australia introduces several significant changes for temporary skilled migrant workers:

• It aims to address labor market needs.
• It provides more time to find another sponsor if employment is terminated.
• It offers a clearer pathway to apply for permanent residency.
• It ensures faster visa processing and enhanced worker mobility.

General Requirements

• Core Skills Income Threshold: $73,150 (indexed annually).
• Specialist Skills Income Threshold: $135,000 (indexed annually).

What are the three new Skills in Demand Visa streams?

Specialist Skills Stream

1. Work Experience: At least 12 months full-time work in the nominated occupation or a related field within the last 5 years.
2. Skills and Qualifications: Must have the necessary skills, qualifications, and employment background.
3. English Language Proficiency: Must meet specified language test requirements.
4. Employment: Must be employed in the nominated occupation and position.

Core Skills Stream

1. Work Experience: At least 12 months full-time work in the nominated occupation or a related field within the last 5 years.
2. Skills and Qualifications: Must have the necessary skills, qualifications, and employment background.

Labour Agreement Stream
