Who Needs an ACS Skills Assessment?

The skills assessment is mandatory for all applicants who want to immigrate to Australia for ICT-related occupations listed in the ANZSCO and work under employer sponsorship visas. The assessment verifies if your qualifications along with work experience fulfill the Australian requirements for your targeted position.

ACS provides multiple assessment paths which match the applicants’ educational background and work experience and visa objectives.

Eligibility and Common Issues

The following requirements must be met for eligibility:

• The degree must be valid and related to the field.
• The candidate must have paid full-time work experience directly related to their nominated occupation.
• All documents need proper certification and correct formatting.

Pathways After ACS Assessment

If your occupation appears on the MLTSSL (Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List), you may be eligible for:

• Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
• Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
• Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)

Alternatively, with a job offer, you could apply for:

• Subclass 482 (TSS)
• Subclass 186 (ENS)
