What is Employer Sponsorship?
Employer sponsorship allows an Australian company to fill a role that can’t be sourced locally by nominating an overseas professional. To qualify, your business must:
- Operate lawfully in Australia (ABN, tax compliance, etc.)
- Show a genuine need for the role
- Offer pay that meets or beats the local market rate
- Demonstrate the financial capacity to employ and support the worker
These standards apply to metropolitan and regional businesses alike.
Why Sponsor Overseas Workers?
Sponsorship isn’t just a quick fix, it’s a long-term investment that delivers:
- Specialised skills you can’t find at home
- Faster hiring for hard-to-fill positions
- Loyal, long-term employees
- Fresh ideas and global insight
Industries such as healthcare, construction, tech, trades and engineering depend on sponsorship to keep projects moving and businesses growing.
